Tylenol Autism & ADHD Connections and Claims
Women who took Tylenol or generic brands of acetaminophen during pregnancy and gave birth to a child that developed Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, or other disorders may have a case that demands a liability lawsuit.
New scientific research has suggested that taking the widely used over-the-counter medication, acetaminophen (frequently referred to by its popular brand name Tylenol), during pregnancy has been linked to an elevated risk of children being born with developmental disorders. This medical evidence has revealed that pregnant mothers who bought and used generic brands of acetaminophen from major retail stores such as Walgreens, CVS, Costco, Safeway, and Rite Aid were at a higher risk for their children to develop autism, ADHD, or other health conditions.
Recent studies have shown that prenatal exposure to Tylenol or acetaminophen was linked to a greater risk of Autism and/or ADHD. Researchers from Denmark and Spain conducted studies on birth cohorts that included over 65,000 children and mothers. It was found that acetaminophen exposure was associated with higher rates of Autism Spectrum Disorder and Complex Developmental Disorder.
Additionally, researchers from Johns Hopkins University and the US Department of Health and Human Services published a study which found that cord plasma biomarkers of fetal exposure to Acetaminophen and cord blood samples contained a higher risk for ADHD diagnosis.
If you or a loved one used Tylenol or a generic version of the pain reliever while pregnant and your child was subsequently diagnosed with Autism or ADHD, call our law firm today to discuss your legal options in a complimentary, risk-free case assessment.
Filing a Lawsuit for your Tylenol/Acetaminophen Autism ADHD Claim
Lawyers are currently investigating claims made against producers and distributors and filing lawsuits against the same. The growing number of Tylenol Autism and/or ADHD lawsuits has prompted a request for the cases to be consolidated through the MDL. On June 10th, 2022, a group of plaintiffs filed a motion to consolidate all the federally filed lawsuits before one judge. This potential coordination will likely help lead to settlement negotiations between the parties in the future.
Our firm is currently accepting Tylenol Autism and ADHD lawsuits from parents or guardians of children who were diagnosed with Autism or ADHD after prolonged exposure to Tylenol or generic acetaminophen.
